About
Started as a dream and became a destiny…artist on the rise, B. One, has best been described as the median between John Mayer and Justin Timberlake. Shooting straight for the heart, B. One’s music combines smooth guitar licks and strong songwriting over an urban sound that’s downright irresistable.

Brenden O’Toole was born in Aurora, CO on December 15, 1987 and spent most of his childhood torn between two very hopeful yet distinctly different aspirations; cartooning (Garfield in particular) and sports. At the tender age of 10 his grandfather began teaching him folk songs and children’s tunes on a four-string guitar. “To this day, I still have the handwritten chords and lyrics in a spiral bound notebook. Music just kinda grew on me. I mean after playing ‘Old McDonald’ and ‘Mary Had A Little Lamb’ for several years at family get-togethers, I knew it was time to step it up! So I asked my parents for an electric guitar when I was 12, but they wouldn’t buy it. I had to wait a whole year before finally, on my 13th birthday…the black and white, garage-sale bargain, Dean Playmate was awaiting me that morning. It wasn’t long before I wrote my first song, ‘Echoes’ (that afternoon).” Brenden continued to play basketball and football for leagues and school. However after a serious knee injury/cuncussions during his 7th grade year he was bedridden for months. “Music became my life. Alot of my friends wouldn’t hang out with me anymore and music was always there calling out to me.” Throughout middle and high school Brenden did recordings and performed at both large and small venues solo, from coffee shops to seminar rooms. At eighteen he set his sights on the Big Apple.

Since his move to New York City In 2007, Brenden has immersed himself in the local scene (esp. Rnb, Soul, and Jazz clubs), was featured on the FUSE network’s ‘You Rock, Let’s Roll’ television series, and has since become known as B. One. He is currently finishing his debut record scheduled to be released early 2011 and is also starring in a movie about his life and musical career.
